Here are some tips on how to stay motivated and become Empowered…
FIND SOMETHING YOU LOVE DOING
We all feel fantastic after exercise, but how do you feel before and during your training session? Do you enjoy the gym or is it a chore that you want to get out the way? Enjoying the full experience makes a huge difference to how often you are likely to train. Find something you enjoy. Try a walk in the park, dance class, a game of tennis, a swim or gentle yoga. Exercise does not need to be high intensity to make a difference.
FOCUS ON WELLBEING
Feeling happy and content increases motivation, feeling low reduces our motivation levels. Although exercise sets off our happy chemicals, it’s still important to focus on our wellbeing first. When you are feeling deflated, try a short yoga session. You don’t even need to leave the house, there are plenty of amazing yoga classes on YouTube. Learning to relax and switch off takes time to master but the results are worth it!
BELIEVE YOU CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING
Yes you can achieve anything! Set goals and write a list of what you are going to achieve, then read them to yourself every morning. Goal setting and believing in yourself will have a massive impact in achieving what you want. Reminding yourself of your goals on a daily basis puts them to the forefront of your mind helping you to naturally prioritise them.
Looking in the mirror and hating what you see is the worse way to stay consistent with your nutrition and exercise routine. Learn to love yourself and the way you look first, then whatever happens is a bonus!
DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF
There are so many beautiful fitness influencers on social media. They are there to inspire their followers, but as soon as you start comparing yourself, you encourage negative thoughts. Even fitness enthusiasts started somewhere, they all have bad days, lack motivation, struggle with body confidence and feel fat. They are real people so don’t believe everything you see on social media.
Staying consistent is key. Yo-Yo dieting and on/off training is worse for you then it is good for you. One minute you feel great, the next you feel guilty. Psychologically you are not doing yourself any favours. One way to stay consistent is to not to be too strict with yourself. It takes up to 3 months before you start seeing the real results, so make changes to your daily and weekly routine and stay consistent. Don’t rush for results.
DON’T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF
Eating salads and starving yourself will only make you crave food more resulting in a big binge at the end of the week. Eat healthy nutritious foods that fill you up. Eating little and often helps stop you from feeling hungry. Treat yourself to something you love every now and again. There’s plenty of healthy treats you can make yourself, or if you do fancy a naughty biscuit, then have one. Just don’t eat the whole packet.
CREATE A FOOD DIARY
Logging your meals is a fantastic way of managing what you eat and staying consistent. It’s so easy to forget that slice of cheese you ate when preparing the dinner, or the few potatoes your child left on their plate. If you are out and about and don’t have time to eat healthy, prep your food beforehand.
ENJOY EATING HEALTHY
Try out new recipes and experiment with healthy snacks. You’ll be surprised how satisfying eating healthy can be.
DITCH THE SCALES
It takes more than a few days to gain or loose weight so fluctuating scale weight due to water retention or other factors only cause you more stress. And what do we feel like doing when we are stressed? We sit on the sofa and binge.
GET YOURSELF A NICE OUTFIT
OK so this sounds like a marketing ploy to buy more Wink… however it really does work. When you look good, you feel better about yourself. There’s nothing more exciting then stepping out in your new outfit. Confidence is a very powerful tool and when you are feeling confident you feel like you can achieve anything. When you feel like you can achieve anything, you actually do!

Measure yourself using a fabric or plastic tape measure (not metal). Circle around the area against bare skin, with the tape measure not too tight or too loose.
Bust/Chest - at widest point
Under Bust - just under bust around rib cage
Waist - at smallest point
Hips - at widest point
Leg Length - inside leg crotch to ankle
Body Length - side of neck to crotch
SQUAT PROOF to ensure your outfit is squat proof, please order the correct hip measurement.
